Wonderful day at the beach

At Christmas time I blogged about Santa coming to my parents house. He is actually in my parents ward (Brother Spence) and about a year ago he was telling my dad that one of his surfing buddies had passed away. He told my dad about how bunch of people got together and surfed out into the ocean to spread his ashes. And my dad said well when you pass away Ill do the same for you. Thinking it would be forgotten about because it would be a long time in the future. Unfortunately he went in to have some routine surgery done on his back and ended up passing away a few months ago.

Well, a few Saturdays ago we went to Newport to support this family and my dad. Now mind you I dont think my dad has been on his board in about 30 years. And out of the 50 surfers that were there he was one of the two that didnt have a wet suit. LOL. I have never seen anything like this it was so touching to see all of these people swim out there and gather in a circle on their boards and throw ashes and flowers into the ocean.

We did make a day of it and played at the beach. I didnt know how well this was going to go. I like to go to the beach when it is hot. But lucky for me my boys LOVE the water no matter how cold.

And you can never bury these two in the sand enough.

(Matt, the kind soul that he is buried Grant at least 10 times. Grant would take his hand and pull him over to where he wanted to be buried)

All and all a perfect day at the beach!

What a neat tribute. SOrry you lost a family friend. Your baby belly looks so cute!! Can't wait to see it this weekend! Oh, and congrats to Rachie! Sorry abt the prego bridesmaid. Been there too. It blows. BTW. I dont' know what her colors are but I had a really cute black bridesmaid dress made for me when I was 8 months prego. You can have it! You'll definately have to take it in but I don't care!
