Parenting 101

First of all, I never thought I would be excited over a parenting class. But I am. Gavin's preschool teacher (Whose praises I can sing all day long) got a calling to teach this parenting class in her ward. She extended the offer to any who wanted to attended. Tonight was the first night and already I have learned a ton, and felt guilty about a ton more (LOL). So, every week I will share a few bits of what I have found interesting or helpful.
-Listen to understand your child. You dont have to agree. Just listen to understand where they are coming from.
-Try not to say NO. Use other phrases like...Well, you can after... Then we you do say NO they understand the importance of it.
-For little ones (ages 1-3) Tell them what they should to not what they shouldnt do! Dont tell them, DONT run in the street. They dont understand the word DONT, they just hear run in the street. Instead say Lets play on the grass.
Looking forward to next week.

Very cool! Thank you for sharing! I would love to go to something like that if Jacob didn't have mutual! At least I can get some insight from you. Keep it coming!
