One of Those Days

Yesterday was "one of those days". I started to write out what happened during the day and I just got tired of typing. When your husband comes home and you just start talking about normal things and then break into tears, that is the kind of day I am talking about. I was just feeling like a big nag all the time (to Gavin, that is). Wondering what I am doing wrong as a mom. Why is my kid the only one who is totally CRAZY?!!! What else can I do? My kind hearted husband listened to me we came up with some ideas to help me and my sanity.
For book club this month we are reading "Glimpses-Into the Life and Heart of Marjorie Pay Hinckley". Today, I was reading the chapter on mothering and I had to share what I read. (And can I just say I love how the Lord answers our prayers.) "...I think I felt something of your frustration and challenge to be the perfect mother. Relax. There is no such thing as the perfect mother that fits all the eulogies. We just do the best we can with the help of the Lord, and who knows, these children who are struggling ...may someday rise up and call us blessed....Don't dwell on your failures, but think about your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your husband. Have joy in your children. Be grateful for the journey!"

Awesome!
Thanks for sharing. You are defiantly not the only one with a crazy little boy. You haven't seen my Charles lately. :)

Little boys can be monsters. I think the "crazy" may be a Jones gene. LOL.. we're all a bit crazy. Gavin is every bit of Spencer. Have my mom recount the tails if she hasn't already.
I'm not sure what crazy is regarding Gavin, but that little guy is hilarious.
Drop him off at my house for a night off, or make it day off on a Saturday. We would LOVE to take him off your hands. He's at such a fun age!

Isnt it amazing how the Lord works? That was fun to read a part of that book. Thanks for sharing as I have not read that book yet. You are a great mother and I am sure everyone has days like you do with kids! Hang in there.

Oh you're a great mom! I saw you mothering when Gav was just a little tike. I know about "those days" though. YEs we are still living with Jenny...she has a separate basement apt in her house.
