Gavin went to his first summer camp last week at the Louis Rubidoux Nature Center and loved every minute of it.
It was the first time I had ever been there and it was a really neat place. They have so many animals living there namely; snakes, lizards, turtles, spiders, rats, fish and Im sure others.
He was there all week from 9-12. They went on a little hike by a stream every day and sometimes they even stopped and ate their lunch. He was able to make some really cute crafts; a flute, a tie dyed pillow case, bird feeder, magnet, and some fridge worthy art. Everyday when I went to pick him up they were outside playing in the sprinklers, throwing wet sponges or blowing some awesome bubbles and cooling off with a popsicle.
The best thing was they had a party on Friday night. All the parents were able to come, bring a snack and see what the kids had been up to all week. They sang some songs that they had learned during the week. Then the teacher of each age group took the kids and parents on the hike that they had done during the week. Gavin's teacher was so great. On the hike she would circle the animal tacks we would see for all the kids and explain to them who's tracks they were and where the animals probably lived. She obviously had been doing this for a while and told us some really intersting facts about all the wildlife around. Gavin just loved his teacher and all the teacher aids.
Spencer's mom used to teach at the Nature Center during the summer when her kids were little. And Im glad Gavin was able to experience it too.

Do you have to stay with him or do you leave him? Maybe I should do that for Ella?
I love your new music! And you found the song from Jeanine's solo! Thanx, u did the work for me, now I just need to get it for my ipod. That's so cute about Gav's little summer camp. I'm glad you explained the pirate beads. I thought he was gettin gangsta with his chain and all - I guess not! And I think I'll have to try out the snake bubbles!
I've always thought of sending my boys there. If you do it again let me know, maybe we'll join ya!
